Mert's Encyclopedia of Living Things: A Children's Book

The Challenge

Mert’s Encyclopedia of Living Things is a student project: a 12-page children’s book with an original idea. This book follows the narrative of Mert, a young writer who guides the reader through his encyclopedia-style book of whimsical beasts.

The Solution

The design process began with character creation, and a storyboard and mockup of the cover and interior of the book. From there, the illustration process began, all done in Photoshop. InDesign was used for the final book layout. And lastly, the book was printed in an 8x8" format.
